What is VESA? VESA Mounting Standard Explained – Simple Way To Find the Right VESA Mount for Your TV.

Dezember 2, 2020

The VESA Interface Standard refers to the distance between the holes on the back of a TV. The distance between the four holes is measured in millimeters (mm). VESA has been adapted by most TV brands as the standard for TV brackets and wall mounting systems. The size of the VESA Interface depends on the size of the TV; the most common VESA sizes are 200 x 200, 400 x 400, and 600 x 400.

How Can I Find the Right VESA?

Option 1: Instruction Manual or Product Box

The fastest and most reliable way to identify the VESA size is to refer to the product manual and look into the specifications. You can usually find it also on the box of your product. If you don’t have the original packaging or instruction manual you can usually find it online too. Alternatively the next option will work too.

Option 2: Measure the VESA holes yourself

Another option is to measure it yourself. Find the holes in the back of your TV and proceed to measure. Remember to measure the distance between the holes from left to right and top to bottom. The measurements need to be converted to millimeters (mm), if your ruler is in centimeter just multiply by x10. If your ruler is in inches multiply your parameters by 24.4.

Now the horizontal distance in millimeter would be your first VESA parameter and the vertical distance in millimeter will be your second parameter.

So like the example below the distance between the horizontal holes was 400mm and the distance from top to bottom was 300mm so the corresponding VESA pattern is VESA 400*300.

And just like that, you will have the right VESA size.
