You gather the facts, and make the best choice you can. That’s what I did. This was a good purchase. In this day in age, there are really no directions, just pictures. Took trial and error, however I got it installed in not to long a time. It’s seems sturdy enough. The issue I had, and I know strength of hanger is of the utmost importance… there isn’t enough room in the wall mount portion to install duplex behind, so it would be really hidden. No big thing , I was just hoping. Good purchase.

First, I mounted this alone. I used an electronic stud finder and checked my findings four times using the mounting template and level that came with the mount. I did work backwards from the instructions and put the mount on the wall first and then the brackets on the TV. One bit of advice for securing the bracket to the wall: you drill pilot holes for the lag bolts that go into the studs. Once you have drilled the pilot holes, before you lift up the actual mount, turn the lag bolts into the sheetrock about 1/3 or more of the way. This readies the holes so when you are holding the bracket up, you don’t fumble with the lag bolts. They are easy to start by hand at that point and stay in place at you reach for the ratchet wrench. It probably took me longer to do this than it should. I’m not necessarily “handy” or adept at these things. I went slowly, reread the instructions several times, and checked to make certain I was doing things correctly at every step. It worked! The TV is up. By the way, its a 55 inch flat screen and seems perfectly stable on this mount. I love the full motion and can’t imagine why other similar mounts cost so much more.

This is the second USX mount I have purchased. The first was for my 65″, this one was for my 36″. What I like about this mount is the absolute rigidity and strength of it. It is important to be sure you do not have an imposter mount- if it does NOT have USX in green on the center of the mount, then it is an imposter. The USX mount is by far one of the strongest mounts out there. You will definitely pay a bit more for it, but it is holding your TV that you likely spent a grand on or so, do you really want to chance a cheaper mount falling off the wall and your TV crashing to the ground or worse? The scissor arms, the forward tilt, and turn radius are great! I like the pivot features of the mount most- being able to turn it a full 45+ degrees in either direction allows you to really get the most out of where you put your TV. Having it pull away from the wall makes it easy to connect the cables to the back of the TV as well. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING- attach the mount as directed DIRECTLY TO YOUR WALL STUDS!!!! The last thing you want is it pulling out of your drywall. Overall quality is legit- the wall bolts that hold the mount to the wall are serious! You will need a good socket wrench and a second set of hands to hold the mount in place when you attach to the wall. It is great that they provide several options of screws for attaching the brackets to the back of the TV to allow for various depths of screw holes. They also conveniently include a level to ensure the mount is level!!!! Also, use the paper template they provide and use painters tape to put it where it fits your studs so you know where to predrill for the bolts- and definitely pre-drill the holes. Overall, I am very pleased with both of my USX mounts. It is all I plan on buying going forward should I need another mount.

Bought this unit to hang a 40″ TV in the salon’s manicure room. The build quality seems very sturdy, even overkill, for this size set, but better safe than sorry. Extends a decent amount from the wall for an easy and comfortable access to the back panel.
